{"id":23559,"date":"2014-06-17T12:43:18","date_gmt":"2014-06-17T18:43:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.counterchange.net\/blog\/?p=23559"},"modified":"2014-06-17T12:43:18","modified_gmt":"2014-06-17T18:43:18","slug":"comcast-failing-big","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.counterchange.net\/blog\/2014\/06\/comcast-failing-big\/","title":{"rendered":"Comcast Failing Big!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As Comcast grows, their customer service seems to be getting worse.\u00a0 This morning I turned on the TV to see the latest business news.\u00a0 I usually watch Bloomberg as CNBC has gotten too political.\u00a0 <strong>Something had changed!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There seemed to be different hosts.\u00a0 Where was Betty Liu?\u00a0 And the hosts seemed more political.\u00a0 Then I realized I was watching Fox News, the propaganda channel of the 1%.\u00a0 I hit my Bloomberg button on my third-party remote and again I got Fox News.\u00a0 I looked at the on-screen guide and no Bloomberg channel was shown.\u00a0 So I logged into Comcast&#8217;s web site to see if the channel line-up had changed.\u00a0 Comcast&#8217;s channel line-up showed Bloomberg on channel 739, right where I had been watching it for several years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.counterchange.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comcast_2014-06-17_8.39.43a.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-23597\" src=\"https:\/\/www.counterchange.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comcast_2014-06-17_8.39.43a-800x684.png\" alt=\"Comcast Channel Line-up\" width=\"800\" height=\"684\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.counterchange.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comcast_2014-06-17_8.39.43a-800x684.png 800w, https:\/\/www.counterchange.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comcast_2014-06-17_8.39.43a-300x256.png 300w, https:\/\/www.counterchange.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comcast_2014-06-17_8.39.43a.png 830w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So I called Comcast&#8217;s phone support.\u00a0 After yelling at the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ivr\">IVR operator<\/a> to forward me to a human for 3 minutes, I got connected to Paul (name changed). He listen to my problem and checked the line-up for my area and said &#8220;Bloomberg should be on channel 739.&#8221; He said he would remotely reset my cable DVR box and that might fix the problem after about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>While I was waiting for that box to reset, I checked my bedroom HD box to see if it had the same problem.\u00a0 There was no Bloomberg on channel 739!\u00a0 In fact, there was no channel 739, so the box went to the next available channel, Fox News.\u00a0 While contemplating spending another 30 minutes trying to get to a human that could reset my cable box, I scanned around to see if other channels were missing.\u00a0 And there on channel 747 was Bloomberg News HD!\u00a0 Apparently hiding from everyone, including Comcast.<\/p>\n<p>Comcast does not seem to know their head from their <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cable_television_headend\">headend<\/a>!\u00a0 Someone moved the channel and the website and customer service knew nothing about it.\u00a0 Since they moved the Science Channel to a higher tier, Comcast has been on my get-rid list.\u00a0 Maybe it&#8217;s time to dump them for the Dish!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Comcast grows, their customer service seems to be getting worse.\u00a0 This morning I turned on the TV to see the latest business news.\u00a0 I usually watch Bloomberg as CNBC has gotten too political.\u00a0 Something had changed!
